That unincorporated area grew 22 percent between 2010 and 2020. Brandon, Riverview, Town 'n' Country, Carrollwood, Citrus Park and Westchase are all unincorporated. Brandon alone counts 119,767 people and Riverview 113,697. County-wide, 56.9 percent of homes are single-family detached houses. The Alafia topped 23 feet at Lithia, its highest since 1933, and the sheriff's office rescued 725 people.
